Description of the Project
The project is funded by African Development Bank (AfDB) with the Employer being Government of the Republic of Kenya.
Implementing Agency is the Kenya National Highways Authority and the Contractor is The Third Engineering Bureau of China City Construction Group Co., Ltd. (CCCC).
The Project Award date is 23rd of Sept, 2016 with the Commencement date being 4th of February, 2017 and Completion date is 29th of October 2021.
- Main Alignment.
- Interchanges – Grade separated junctions will be constructed at the start of the road at Kibwezi and at Kitui Town where the project road connects with the existing road from Machakos into Kitui.
- Service and/or Access Roads – There are no service roads under the Contract.
- Town Roads.
- Roadside Amenities.
- Infrastructure – The Contract provides for construction of two heavy vehicle parking areas including roadside amenities at both Kibwezi and Kitui.
- Source of Finance – The project is funded by the Export Import Bank of China and the Government of the Republic of Kenya.
