The Nairobi-Nakuru-Mau Summit road project has been the subject of 65 stakeholder engagement meetings with approximately 3000 participants, organised by KPIA and the Rift Valley Highway Limited. Participants have included county governments, elected officials, conservationists, non-governmental organisations, transporters, and other interest organisations like KEPSA.

To ensure that different interests have been taken into consideration, public suggestions have been incorporated into the road designs as a result of the engagements.
