

The National Treasury and Economic Planning organized a public hearing for the FY2025/26 and Medium-Term Budget at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). Mohamed Daghar Principal Secretary State Department for Transport and his Roads counterpart, Eng. Joseph Mbugua were tasked with presenting the Ministry’s case on the role of infrastructure in the development of the transport, energy, and ICT sectors. The presentation highlighted the importance of modernizing Kenya’s infrastructure to support sustainable economic growth, improve service delivery, and ensure connectivity across the country. The State Department emphasized the need for continued investments in road networks, railway systems, ports, airports, and other infrastructures to meet the demands of a growing population and to bolster the nation’s competitiveness on the global stage.
During the hearing, participants were given the opportunity to raise concerns and provide feedback on the proposed budget, ensuring that public input was fully integrated into the planning process.
